What Do You Need to Get Married in Moab?
Marriage License Requirements
Where to go: Grand County Clerk’s Office, 125 E Center St, Moab, UT.
What to bring: Valid photo IDs (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
Fee: $50, payable by cash or card.
Waiting period: None! You can get married the same day.
Who Can Officiate?
Good news—I’m ordained and can officiate your ceremony! I can also help with logistics, ensuring everything goes smoothly.
Witnesses
Utah requires two witnesses. If it’s just the two of you, I’m happy to act as one, and I can help find another (or use a friendly passerby!).
Do You Need a Permit?
National Parks
Arches & Canyonlands: Both parks require a Special Use Permit for ceremonies. Applications should be submitted 4-6 weeks in advance.
Cost: $185 (non-refundable).
State Parks
Dead Horse Point typically doesn’t require a permit for small elopements but check with the park office for details.
BLM Land
While most BLM areas don’t require permits, some high-traffic spots or commercial photography sessions might.
I always research permit requirements for my clients to make your experience seamless.
